Ag Exploration Day
Kittson County 4-H and Kittson County Soil and Water Conservation District partner to bring youth an opportunity to learn about agriculture. Students K-6th Explore the agriculture field, while experiencing hands-on activities. Youth will work with local agriculture experts to learn more about the science in agriculture.

Area 1 Envirothon
This event is held the 3rd Wednesday in April and the event site switches year to year from the Lake Bronson State Park to Agassiz National Wildlife Refuge. Students grades 9-12 from schools in Kittson, Roseau, Marshall and Pennington County compete at five different stations including Wildlife, Forestry, Aquatics, Soils, and Current Events and also give an oral presentation on the Current Event Topic. The top 3 schools from the event go on to compete at the State event in May.

Northwest Minnesota Water Festival
Area fourth graders attend the Northwest Minnesota Water Festival at the Marshall County Fairgrounds in Warren Minnesota in September. Students take part in interactive learning stations all about our water resources, the stations include water quality, ground water and spring water, flooding, wetlands and watersheds. Students also participate in casting and a fish painting station.

Kittson County Fair
The Kittson SWCD staff have a booth at the Kittson County Fair each July. The booth includes information on the programs and equipment that the district offer and pictures from projects completed by Kittson SWCD and NRCS staff. Also stop by the booth for the chance to win a potted tree.
